The first meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and the new leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Tufan Erciurman, is underway at the residence of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in the buffer zone in Nicosia.
President Christodoulides arrived first, accompanied by negotiator Menelaos Menelaou.
Subsequently, at 9.35, Mr. Erhürman arrived together with the "Deputy Minister to the President" Mehmet Dana, who according to information was possibly appointed by Tufan Erhürman, the new negotiator of the Turkish Cypriot side.
The two leaders were greeted upon their arrival by Special Representative Kassim Dian, who led them inside the residence.
