The United Nations, in an unofficial note regarding the program of the two-day meeting in Geneva on Cyprus, states that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will host a dinner with the heads of delegations and bilateral meetings, as well as an expanded meeting with the two delegations on the second day of the meeting.
The informal note refers to the informal meeting on Cyprus to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 17-18 March 2025 where “the Secretary-General will host a dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel on 17 March at 7pm to welcome the Heads of Delegation”. The format of the dinner will be Head of Delegation plus one. The Secretary-General will welcome the Heads of Delegation and there will also be a photo opportunity with the Secretary-General.
The following day, the Secretary-General plans to hold “bilateral meetings on the morning of March 18, starting at 09:00 a.m. at the Intercontinental Hotel.” The format of the bilateral meetings with the Secretary-General, the note adds, “is to be headed by a delegation plus five.” Photographs will be taken as the Secretary-General welcomes each delegation.
The expanded meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Palais des Nations. There will be a photo opportunity with attendees before that. The meeting is scheduled to conclude at 2:30 p.m. The format of the meeting is Head of Delegation plus five.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General will make an opening statement, followed by statements from the heads of delegations.
Each delegation, it is noted, "is encouraged to ensure the significant inclusion of women participants in their delegations."
