The President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, accompanied by his wife Ms. Filippa Karsera Christodoulidis and the members of the Cypriot delegation, is leaving tomorrow for New York, where he will address the Plenary of the 79th UN General Assembly, while he will have a meeting with UN Secretary General.
Specifically, on Sunday, September 22, at 6pm (New York time), President Christodoulidis will have a meeting with the Presidents of Cypriot American Organizations and then he will attend a pan-generational event organized by the Cypriot Federation of American Organizations.
On September 23, at 10am, President Christodoulidis will address the UN Summit for the Future, and then he will have a bilateral meeting with the President of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandr Vucic. He will then have a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan.
At 3.40 pm, the President of the Republic will meet with the Secretary-General of the UN, Mr. Antonio Guterres, at the building of the UN Secretariat.
On September 24, in the morning, the President will attend a reception given by the UN Secretary-General for the heads of state participating in the General Assembly, and then he will attend the opening of the 79th UN General Assembly.
Subsequently, the President of the Republic will have separate bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Armenia Mr. Nikol Pashinyan, with the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He will then have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
On September 25, at 11am, the President of the Republic will address the Plenary of the UN General Assembly.
At 12pm, President Christodoulidis will speak before the Security Council, on the topic of promoting peace and respecting the UN Charter.
Afterwards, he will attend a lunch with a delegation of the Hellenic-American Council Leadership, while in the afternoon he will meet with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mr. Mohamed Sia Al Sudani.
Later in the afternoon, he and his wife will attend a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
On September 26, President Christodoulidis will meet in the morning with the High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Filippo Grandi, and then with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr. Alain Berchet.
Afterwards, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with a delegation of the American-Jewish Committee.
At noon of the same day, he will sit down to a lunch with businessmen, members of the American Express Club.
In the afternoon, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with a delegation of the Chevron company and then he will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Mr. Qin Gang.
On the morning of September 27, President Christodoulidis will have a meeting with the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Mr. Adamas Barrow.
Afterwards, he will host a luncheon for the Permanent Representatives of the five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council.
In the evening, President Christodoulidis will attend and welcome the annual dinner hosted in his honor by the Federation of American Cypriot Organizations.
President Christodoulidis will be accompanied to the USA by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Konstantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesman Mr. Konstantinos Letympiotis, the Deputy Minister of European Affairs Ms. Marilena Rauna, the Negotiator of the Greek Cypriot side Mr. Menelaos Menelaou, the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President and .Gift of Venice and service factors.
The President of the Republic and his entourage will return to Cyprus on the evening of September 29.
