The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, is going to Budapest on Thursday morning to participate in the European Political Community Summit and the Informal European Council.

A written statement by Deputy Government Representative Yannis Antoniou states that tomorrow President Christodoulidis, who will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister of European Affairs Marilena Raunas, the Deputy Government Representative and officials, will participate in the work of the 5th Meeting of Leaders of the European Political Community.

In addition to the heads of states of the European Political Community, the heads of the institutions of the EU, NATO, the OSCE and the Council of Europe are also expected to participate in the Meeting.

Among other things, the work of the Synod will concern the economic security of the EU, as well as immigration, for which President Christodoulidis will refer in his intervention.

On the margins of the Synod, the President of the Republic will have bilateral meetings with heads of state or government.

Tomorrow evening, the President of the Republic will attend a dinner of the leaders of the EU member states, as part of the Informal European Council, which will take place in the Hungarian Parliament.

The main topic of discussion during the leaders' dinner will be EU-US relations, regional developments and the situation in the Middle East.

On Friday, November 8, an Informal Session of the European Council will be held, with the main topic of discussion being the future of European competitiveness, based on the Leta and Draghi reports.

The President of the Republic will return to Cyprus on the evening of November 8.
