The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is going to Ankara today, where he will make a working visit.
According to the program published by Mr. Mitsotakis' office, at 15:30 the Prime Minister will have a meeting with the President of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Palace. Extended talks by the delegations and statements by the two leaders to the press will follow.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister will attend a dinner hosted by the President of Turkey.
The Prime Minister gave an interview to the Turkish newspaper Milliet and its director Ozai Sendir, ahead of his visit to Ankara, and expressed the hope that the improvement of Greek-Turkish relations will lead to the resumption of talks on the Cyprus issue, which is also an EU issue.
"Regarding Cyprus, I want to be clear: a solution must be based on the decisions of the UN Security Council," he said.
