The PtD goes to Athens for events condemning the invasion

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, is going to Athens on Wednesday, where he will participate in an event of the University of Athens for the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.

An announcement from the Presidency states that as part of his visit, the President of the Republic will lay a wreath, at noon, at the Memorial to the Fallen in Cyprus, which is located in Alsos Stratou in Goudi, in the presence of the Chief of the General Military Police, General Dimitrios Houpis.

In the afternoon, the President of the Republic will inaugurate the Photography and Multimedia Exhibition of the journalist Sotiris Danezis for Famagusta, at the "Melina Merkouri" Cultural Center, in Thisio.

At 7pm, the President of the Republic will attend and speak at a commemorative event organized by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), on the premises of the University, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, in the presence of the Rector's Authorities and official.

President Christodoulidis, who will return to Cyprus tomorrow evening, will be accompanied to Athens by the Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou.
