President Christodoulidis has been in Brussels since Wednesday evening, where he will participate in the European Council Summit on June 27-28, during which the 27 EU leaders are expected to decide on the leadership of the European Union for the next five years.
On the sidelines of the session to have a meeting with the personal envoy of the UN Secretary General, Maria Angela Holgin, a meeting which is scheduled for either Thursday or Friday. The meeting with the special envoy of the Secretary General of the International Organization was announced by the Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis.
On Thursday, President Christodoulidis will also participate in the preparatory meeting of the leaders of member states from the European People's Party, in which the President of DISY, Annita Dimitriou, is participating as the head of the opposition from the EPP.
As stated in the announcement, at the morning meeting of the EPP, the issues on the agenda of the European Council meeting will be discussed.
In the afternoon of the same day, it is added, President Christodoulidis will participate in the work of the European Council Summit.
The President of the Republic, who will return to Cyprus on Friday evening, is accompanied by the Government Spokesman Constantinos Letymiotis, the Deputy Minister of European Affairs Marilena Raunas, the director of the Press Office of the PtD Viktoros Papadopoulos and officials.
