He will meet today with the Legal Service to finalize the content of the decree he will issue regarding Takata airbags, stated the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeadis, on the sidelines of his visit to the construction site of the Nicosia - Palaichori motorway, on Thursday morning.
Responding to a question regarding the decree, Mr. Vafeadis said that consultations with the Legal Service are ongoing, adding that he will meet with the Legal Service today to finalize the content of the decree. "It is very important that everything that will be included is within the framework of legality and that is why we need this time," he explained.
"As soon as we are ready," he continued, "we will announce the content or any other measures that will be taken so that the public knows regardless of whether it is implemented (the decree) on February 3, without ruling out the possibility of waiting until February 3, depending on the consultations we will have with the Legal Service."
Alexis Vafeadis clarified that "the decree has been drawn up, we are simply awaiting this discussion with the Legal Service to see whether it falls within the framework of what is provided for by the legislation."
When asked whether more than one decree will be issued, the Minister of Transport replied that "this will depend on what the Legal Service tells us."
