Today, Monday, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, continues his official visit to Cyprus, where he will receive an official welcome at the Presidential Palace and will subsequently have a private meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, who will award him with the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III.
Expanded talks between the delegations of the two countries will follow, and then the two leaders will make statements to the media.
According to Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the talks will discuss, among other things, issues related to bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen them, mainly in the areas of economy, trade, infrastructure and investment. EU-India relations, issues related to the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), the situation in the Middle East and South Asia and the latest developments in the Cyprus issue will also be discussed.
Later, the two leaders will proceed to Nicosia City Hall, from where they will tour along the ceasefire line.
Afterwards, the President of the Republic will host an official lunch in honor of the Prime Minister of India at the Presidential Palace and immediately afterwards Mr. Modi will depart from Cyprus.
