He characterized the contacts he had in New York as important – his great satisfaction with the Turkish President's "historic speech" at the UN General Assembly
On the order of the Turkish President, the Embassies of the Republic of Turkey are working to promote "tdvk", said Ersin Tatar to the Kipris newspaper, characterizing the contacts he had so far in the American metropolis as important.
"I participated in various meetings of the Turkish-American cooperation next to Mr. Erdogan. Mr. Erdoğan always and everywhere introduced me as the president of the Tdvk," he said.
He reiterated his great satisfaction with the Turkish President's "historic speech" at the UN General Assembly, stating that the proposal he submitted in 2021 in Geneva for sovereign equality and equal international status is "a basic condition for the negotiations." And that is why he considers the Erdogan report very important that these "basic principles" must be confirmed.
"We have always been open to dialogue and believed that a solution could be found through negotiations. President Erdogan strongly expressed this position at the UN," he added.
He also noted Erdogan's references to lifting the "embargo" and T/k rights to natural resources around the island. "The Republic of Turkey has rights under international maritime rules and law. This forms the basis of our serious policies and political assessment linked to our sovereignty,” he said.
Because of the situation in Gaza, Mr. Tatar said, the Turkish President's speech attracted international attention, even from the American President, and this allowed the messages about the pseudo-state sent by Mr. Erdogan to reach the international community.
Mr Tatar also responded to criticism from some that he cannot adequately represent the T/K "people", saying "Mercy no more!". He has, he said, very good relations with the Turkish President, who has trusted him for 4 years, him and the pseudo-state, and had him by his side now in New York at various events and introduced him as "president of the tdvk". "I wonder how there could be better representation than that," he added.
Ersin Tatar also reported that Turkey fully supported the pseudo-state in joining the OTK and added that Tayyip Erdogan instructed all Turkish foreign missions to promote it. "President Erdoğan has instructed 257 embassies and delegations around the world to continue the fight to promote tdvk wherever they are," he said.
He referred to applause that was heard in the UN General Assembly hall when the Turkish President again called for the recognition of the pseudo-state. “This applause is an indication that some countries are positive about recognizing tdvk and this will be achieved over time. This is how I evaluate what was done at the General Assembly and I am very optimistic," he said.
Meeting with Erdogan
Face to face he thanked the Turkish President for his speech at the UN General Assembly, says Ersin Tatar in a post on his personal social media account.
Posting photos of the two of them sitting at a table surrounded by photographers and cameras, Mr Tatar wrote that he met at the "Turkish House" in New York and thanked him personally, but also "on behalf of my people for his strong support for just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people during his speech at the 79th UN General Assembly".
Later, in a statement from the "presidency", it is reported that Mr. Tatar told Mr. Erdogan: "we always feel the support of the Republic of Turkey strongly. I would like to express my gratitude to both you and the Turkish people on behalf of myself and my people for this purpose."
In the same announcement, it is stated that the Erdogan-Tatar meeting took place in the office of the pseudo-state located on the floor of the "Turkish House" building, with the Turkish leader stressing to the Turkish President "the importance of being here".
