Morphou is one of the most important areas of the pseudo-state with its water resources, agriculture and citrus fruits, and they will continue efforts together with the "government" for further developments there, stated Ersin Tatar.
As reported by the occupied territories, speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for social housing to be built in the Morphou area, the Turkish Cypriot leader also referred to the latest "protocol of economic and financial cooperation" with Turkey for the development of the pseudo-state, amounting to 21 billion TL.
With the implementation of this protocol, he added, their greatest desire is to improve the quality of life and achieve economic development through projects that will complete the infrastructure.
The social housing in Morphou, he continued, will help young people not to abandon the area and move to Nicosia or elsewhere.
Referring to the Cyprus issue, Ersin Tatar said that in Geneva they once again emphasized to the international community, the United Nations and international actors that there are two separate "states" and two separate "peoples" in Cyprus, and the Turkish Foreign Minister gave them full support.
He reiterated that the federation's book is "certainly and clearly closed and if there is an agreement in Cyprus, this agreement could be the two-state solution." In this context, he stated, development in Morphou should continue.
He finally stated that he wishes that this project carried out by the "government" and the Turkish Cypriot contractors' association would serve as an example for other similar projects.
They will build, he continued, affordable housing for the people in Rizokarpaso and Famagusta. "This is the responsibility of being a state."
With such projects, he concluded, they will leave another mark on the future of the "TRNC" for their prosperity as an "independent Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean" and a promising future for the youth.
