Energy, infrastructure, technology, industry and tourism were among the topics discussed by members of the delegation of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCC) during their visit to Qatar where they met with the country's government and business bodies.
According to an announcement from the KEBE, following the official visit of the Emir of Qatar A.M. Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Cyprus last May, the KEBE visited Qatar, with the aim of further strengthening business relations between the two countries, in the context of promoting economic diplomacy.
It is added that the delegation of the Chamber, led by the President, Stavros Stavrou, met with top executives of government and business entities in Qatar, exchanging views and exploring cooperation opportunities.
It is noted that as part of the visit, meetings were held with the vice-president and representatives of the Qatar Chamber, the Director General of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the Director General of the country's Financial Activities Organization (QFC) and other important economic entities.
According to the statement, the discussions focused on the areas of energy, infrastructure, technology, industry and tourism, areas in which both countries have strategic interest and potential for development.
Additionally, it is reported that the mission held a meeting with Cypriot businessmen active in Qatar with the participation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus.
It is noted that the President of the KEBE expressed his satisfaction for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of cooperation with Qatar, underlining that "Cyprus is a gateway to Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, offering important investment opportunities. This visit is an important step to strengthen economic ties and further promote Cypriot businesses and products in Qatar."
