The important reforms, social policies and development projects that the Government has implemented or has planned as part of the "Cyprus - Tomorrow" Plan, in the "Welfare State - Inclusive Society" sector, will be presented by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis at an event, which will take place today at the Presidential Palace, in which representatives of institutions and organizations related to the aforementioned thematic section will also take part.

According to a written statement by the Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic Andreas Iosif, President Anastasiades will conduct a review of the progress of the implementation of the government program from 2013 until today in the said policy pillar in relation to reforms, policies and national strategies adopted, but also the related development actions, especially regarding the implementation of the EEE, the benefit policy, the support of low-pensioners and vulnerable groups of the population, as well as people with disabilities, the provision of assistance to children , the woman and the family, as well as regarding the broader housing policy.

It is also noted that this is the first event of its kind, while similar planning is being done for the next period for other policy pillars, in order to give civil society a full picture of the provisions of the "Cyprus - Tomorrow" Plan and how they will be implemented , but also for citizens to share in the Government's work.

As mentioned, the "Cyprus - Tomorrow" Plan is an overall economic and social transformation of the country, so that it keeps pace with the imperatives of the modern era, in an environment of competitiveness, environmental and digital adaptation and development.

The total amount for the implementation of the program for the period 2021-2026, without counting the costs of the annual budgets, amounts to 4.4 billion Euros and is expected to benefit the entire economy and society, since, in addition to the projected increase in the Gross Domestic Product, an additional percentage of 7% will be added, while the implementation of the funds of the Plan is expected to create more than 11 thousand new, well-paid, jobs.
