Pre-election activity is coming to an end today, while tonight the last cross-channel telefight is being held between the two candidates, Nikos Christodoulidis and Andreas Mavroyiannis, who are making their last moves in order to convince the electorate to give them their vote, while after DISY officials and Ministers, today it is not excluded, as the KYPE was informed yesterday, that the President of the Republic will be appointed for the elections.

According to the electoral law, from tomorrow Saturday and also on election Sunday, it is prohibited to broadcast, advertise or publish any news or announcement that has a direct or indirect connection with the elections. Public gatherings, dropping leaflets, posting banners or writing election-related slogans are still prohibited.

On Thursday, the delivery of the ballots was completed and today, Friday, the internal ballot boxes are delivered.

Yesterday the foreign ballots were delivered and today the ballots for the internal polling centers will be delivered, in the districts of Nicosia from 08:00 to 12:00, Limassol from 08:00 to 12:30, Larnaca from 08:00 to 11:30, Paphos from 08:00 to 15:00 and Famagusta from 13:00 to 15:00.

In his statements at the Government Printing Office, the Chief Electoral Officer of Elections, Kostas Konstantinou, once again called on citizens to plan and exercise their right to vote properly, noting that last Sunday there was some overcrowding in some centers when the polls closed at 12 at noon. Therefore, he appealed to the voters to come to the polls on time before 12 noon and not to stay at the last minute, noting that if the number of voters in the polling stations is small at that time, the instructions he has given are to be served and to vote, while if the number is large this cannot be done.

Mr. Constantinou said that in total more than 600 thousand have been printed, in order to cover the 561 thousand voters who are registered in the lists and plus 5% in case of destruction or inappropriateness of some ballots. For the election Sunday, he stated that the goal is to finish with the final results by 19:30 because from then on there is another procedure for issuing the final official result, so that the declaration can be made, concluded Mr. Konstantinou.
