Ankara announced the construction of maritime traffic monitoring stations in the occupied territories.

According to the front page of the Turkish Cypriot online newspaper "Özgür Gazete", the Turkish Minister of Transport, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, stated that within the framework of the "Eastern Mediterranean Vessel Traffic Services" project, monitoring stations have already been constructed in the Karpasia region, in Agios Theodoros and in Livera.

The newspaper writes that stations were built in the occupied territories for Turkey's interests and adds that all data collected "will be transferred to Turkey."

At the same time, according to the Turkish Cypriot publication, Mr. Ouraloglou noted that work is continuing on the installation of a central control station in occupied Famagusta. As he explained, this center will integrate data from the Automatic Identification Systems and radars located in Kantara and other locations, allowing Turkey to closely monitor all shipping traffic in the area 24 hours a day.
