The High Commission in London is taking the necessary steps towards a certain media outlet that hosted the Turkish leader, Ersin Tatar, in his program to prevent the use of terminology that was used in the future, the press representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Gotsis, told KYPE regarding with the fact that Mr. Tatar was hosted on a show in which he presented himself as "president of the tdvc".
Asked by the KYPE to comment on the event, Mr. Gotsis stated that, as in all similar cases of using incorrect terminology that adopts the illegality of the separatist regime, the local diplomatic missions of Cyprus, and in this case the High Commission in London, is taking the necessary steps to the specific media to prevent the use of such terminology in the future.
"Members of the journalistic community must be better informed to avoid the trap of using such illegal 'titles'," noted Mr. Gotsis.
It is noted that Mr. Tatar was a guest on the TV station GB News and the journalist, Martin Daubney, called him "president of the tdvc".
The Turkish leader also spoke to the Times with journalist Dominic O'Connell, in some places questioning the words of the Turkish Cypriot leader, such as on the issue of direct flights and trade, noting that any recognition of the occupied would create a dangerous precedent.
