According to data from the European Statistical Office on the reduction of youth unemployment, the Republic of Cyprus records the best performance and ranks first among all member states of the European Union, the Ministry of Labor said in a statement today.
Specifically, it is noted that unemployment among young people under 25 years of age in March 2023 was 16,1% and in December 2024 it was limited to 9,9%, which is the lowest rate since 2008, recording a decrease of 6,2 percentage points, which corresponds to a decrease of 38,5%.
"Achieving the goal of creating full employment conditions positively affects the everyday life of citizens and the substantial reduction in youth unemployment creates optimistic prospects for the future of the new generation in the labor market," the announcement concludes.
