Finance Minister Makis Keravnos described the ongoing global trade war as very worrying.
Speaking on the Morning Schedule, Mr. Keravnos said that developments with the US tariff policy are creating great uncertainty, as the rules of international trade are being dismantled.
He stressed that Cyprus' economic and trade relations with the United States are limited, but there will be significant impacts on the European Union economy, which will affect Cyprus in the tourism and services sectors.
Mr. Keravnos assured that the government is evaluating all developments and acting proactively and promptly.
He pointed out that in this context, a special report has been prepared which will be discussed today, at a special meeting at the Ministry of Finance.
"There should be neither panic nor respite," he said.
