We want to expand the institution of the Summer School to all special schools, but also to other schools, said the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athina Michailidou, in the context of a visit she made today to the Nicosia Special School, which operates as a Summer School.
In the context of her visit, the Minister expressed her satisfaction that there is an increase in participation this year.
He added that "it is an institution that is necessary for both the children and their families, to which we attached great importance."
As Mrs. Michailidou said, "we want to upgrade it by listening to the suggestions of the participants and we mainly want to extend it to all special schools, but also to other schools".
He said that "it is important for us that as part of the Summer School, free breakfast is offered, free transport of the children, something that makes it easier for families".
The Minister of Education said that "we are here to evaluate the institution in its daily life, to listen to the people who work here, the parents of the children and the children themselves - because they themselves have many important suggestions - so that we can make the institution better".
