'Test to Stay' in force today at the National Guard

The measure "Test to Stay", which is already applied in schools, is being implemented in the National Guard from today.

The introduction of the measure in the National Guard was approved on Wednesday by the Council of Ministers, with the Deputy Government Spokesperson, Niovi Parisinou, stating that it enters into force on February 11th.

According to the Decree of the Minister of Health published yesterday, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense, for persons serving in the National Guard and who are close contacts of confirmed positive incidents, according to the Ministry's health protocols. to remain in a state of compulsory self-restraint.

In particular, they may submit daily for a period of seven consecutive days from the date of close contact, to a rapid antigen detection test and if the test result is negative, to come to the Unit or their service.

According to the decree, if they choose to remain in compulsory self-restraint, their days of absence are counted as normal leave of absence.

Also, the hoplites serving in the National Guard outposts are exempted from the provisions of this sub-paragraph and must comply with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense.

In addition, for persons serving in the National Guard and who are close contacts of confirmed positive cases, according to the health protocols of the Ministry of Health, if they hold a comprehensive vaccination certificate for their disease COVID-19 or a valid certificate of recovery from his illness COVID-19, are subjected to a rapid antigen detection test on the third and fifth day from the date of close contact.

It is understood that the provisions of this subsection exclude persons who have received a booster dose of the vaccine.
