A very important European Conference is taking place on October 17-19, 2025 in Bratislava on the theme “Development of Education from 2026 to 2030 in Slovakia and the World”. The conference is taking place within the framework of the General Assembly of the European Parents' Association (EPA) and the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the Organization.

The European Parents Association (EPA) was founded in 1985 in Milan and is the umbrella organisation for organised parents in Europe. Today, it is made up of 30 member organisations representing 20 European countries, with its headquarters in Brussels. The organisation brings together parents' associations from across Europe, representing more than 150 million parents. The main mission of the EPA is to represent parents and strengthen their voice in the shaping of educational policies and decisions at European level.

In the field of education, the EPA promotes the active participation of parents in educational matters, recognizing the fundamental principle that parents bear the primary responsibility and play the decisive role in the education and development of their children.

At this year's ERA conference, Ms. Zafiro Kastanou will represent the Federation of Parents' Associations of Public and Community Kindergartens of Famagusta. Her participation is a special honor for our province and recognition of her active action in the field of education and parental representation.
Beyond the valuable benefits and concerns highlighted through the conference topics, Ms. Kastanou will have the opportunity to meet and exchange views and experiences with parent representatives from across Europe.
Her presence in such an important European body is not only an honor for our province, but also a substantial contribution to strengthening the voice of Cypriot parents. Through her participation, the opportunity is given to highlight the specificities, needs and priorities of the Cypriot educational system, while highlighting the interest, care and commitment of the parents of our province to the progress and future of their children.
