The wonderful and stylish world of Brooks Brothers

The well-known company, which -unfortunately- has not yet admitted to having a representative office in Cyprus, is one of the big protagonists of the film "The Wonderful Gatsby", as it dresses Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton.

Brooks Brothers is the creator of the men's costumes for director Baz Luhrmann's highly anticipated feature film "The Magnificent Gatsby", a big-screen adaptation of the classic literary work written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1925. The film will be released on Greek halls on May 16 from the Village.

The film's costume designer and two-time Costume Oscar winner, Catherine Martin, selected Brooks Brothers, America's oldest menswear company, to collaborate and create more than 500 costumes - formal evening and morning, handmade costumes. tuxedos, sports coats, jackets and trousers, shirts, ties, shoes and numerous accessories - dressing the characters of Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) and Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton).

Catherine Martin looked at the valuable Brooks Brothers archives, consulted the brand's designers and merchants, and studied its history, through the most popular items of the 1920s, as well as the innovations that the Brooks Brothers introduced to America. Catherine Martin transformed all this historical research into a series of costumes, which on the one hand revives the Jazz Age, and on the other hand perfectly serves the narrative needs of the film's director, Baz Luhrmann.

Brooks Brothers launches a limited edition collection, inspired by the costumes of the movie "The Wonderful Gatsby", designed in collaboration with Catherine Martin and includes tuxedos, suits, sports jackets, pants, shirts, ties, shoes and accessories.

Sophisticated and full of color, the collection brings to life the dream world of luxury villas with vast lawns and legendary parties, as described in his novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
