Recent developments in Syria show the need for a compromise between the Syrian government and the opposition, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Monday, adding that Turkey is ready to contribute to such a dialogue if necessary.
"Turkey is ready to contribute to any dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition," said Hakan Fidan.
In a joint press conference after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, Fidan said that "Turkey continues to support the territorial integrity of Syria."
At the same time, he argued that "it is important to have stability in Syria, underlining that there should be a dialogue channel between the Syrian government and the opposition.
"Ankara is taking precautions against possible problems that may arise from the recent developments in Syria," Fidan pointed out and explained that the new developments are coming because the existing problems of the last 13 years have not been resolved.
