Hermes Airports announced that July 2025 was the month with the highest traffic in the history of Cypriot airports, with a total of 1.653.880 passengers passing through the island's two airports, in Larnaca and Paphos.
In a post on “X”, Hermes pointed out that this milestone demonstrates the ever-growing attractiveness of Cyprus as a destination.
As he noted, “we are proud to announce that July 2025 was officially the month with the highest traffic in the history of Cyprus airports, with a total of 1.653.880 passengers passing through Larnaca and Paphos airports!”
Furthermore, from January to July 2025, the two airports welcomed 7,3 million passengers, marking a remarkable increase of 11,4% compared to the same period last year.
Hermes pointed out that “several key factors” have contributed to this exceptional growth, such as “increasing buying momentum from Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Armenia and Germany, which has contributed to 70% of the total growth this year.”
This growth, he added, “has been supported by the increased performance of 40 of the 58 airlines operating in Cyprus. Notable growth was recorded by Wizz Air, Aegean, Cyprus Airways, TUI Group, LOT and Air Haifa, which have led to 60% of the market expansion,” it is noted.
During the first seven months of 2025, according to Hermes, “we had 5 new airlines operating in Cyprus and 6 new routes.”
“This milestone reflects not only the ever-increasing attractiveness of Cyprus as a destination, but also the dedication of all our partners, airlines and airport teams who work tirelessly to ensure smooth and enjoyable journeys for millions of travelers,” the company concluded in its post.
