New strike by Ryanair pilots on August 14 and 15

A new strike has been announced by Ryanair pilots based at Charleroi airport in Belgium. The mobilization will take place on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 August, as reported by the Belgian news agency.

Workers at the low-cost Irish airline are accusing it of failing to reverse pay cuts implemented during the coronavirus crisis despite big profits. They also claim that Ryanair has breached a previous agreement relating to pilot rest periods.

This is going to be the third strike in the middle of summer, after the previous ones on July 15-16 and 29-30. The first strike in July resulted in the cancellation of 120 flights to and from Charleroi, while the second saw the cancellation of around 100 flights.
