2017 was characterized as a record year for tourist arrivals in Cyprus which, during the nine months of January-September, increased by 15% compared to the corresponding period last year. Nevertheless, travel agents and hoteliers do not rest and ask both the state and the entrepreneurs, who are active in the tourism sector, to be vigilant, so that this upward trend remains stable and the next years.
In an interview with INBusiness TV, Popi Tanta, General Manager of Sales and Marketing of Louis Hotels, revealed to us in great detail the future business plans of the group. These include the operation of two new hotel units in Paphos over the next two years: the Louis Paphos Breeze in the spring of 2018 and the Ivi Mare in 2019.
Ms. Tanta did not hesitate to raise her glove when asked to comment on the problem of seasonality, stressing that the extension of the tourist season can only be achieved through the close cooperation of the state with tour operators, airlines and hoteliers. He described, as a very positive development for the place, the creation of a Ministry of Tourism, which, as he claimed, could be the vehicle for a dynamic rebranding of our country abroad, but also the lever for accelerating the bureaucratic procedures, which create significant delays in the implementation of the development projects of the tourism industry.
