Tourism revenue reached a record level in July 2024, reaching €474,0 million, surpassing the previous record set in July 2023, when revenue reached €454,6 million.
Based on the results of the Travelers Survey, announced on Monday by the Statistical Service, revenues from tourism in July 2024 showed an increase of 4,3% compared to the corresponding month of 2023, while revenues also reached a new record level for January – July period.
Specifically, in the period January - July 2024, tourism revenues are estimated at €1.610,4 million, compared to €1.544,7 million in the corresponding period of 2023, marking an increase of 4,3%.
Cost Analysis
According to the Statistical Service, the per capita expenditure of tourists in July 2024 amounts to €859,95 compared to €867,96 in July 2023, marking a decrease of 0,9%.
British tourists (the largest tourist market with 33,9% of all tourists in July 2024) spent an average of €95,02 per day, while Israeli tourists (the second largest tourist market during the given month with 12,9% of the total) spent an average of €140,24.
Tourists from Poland (third largest market with 6,4%), spent €86,02 per day.
