Recipe for Sausage pies with mustard and caramelized onions

Ingredients

  • 375 gr. Frankfurt sausages
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry for pie
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 1/2 tbsp caramelized onion
  • 1 lightly beaten egg
  • Tomato sauce, for serving

Implementation

Cut each sausage into three equal lengths (about 5 cm each).

Place the dough sheets on a flat surface and cut lengthwise into 18 strips 5 cm thick.

To make the rolls, spread about 1/4 teaspoon of mustard on each piece of dough. Place about 1/2 teaspoon of caramelized onion on the edge closest to you and a piece of sausage on top. Wrap to create the rolls.

Cut two 1 cm deep slits in the top of each roll and place the rolls, with the slit down, in a large baking tray lined with oil paste.

Spread with the egg and bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees for about 18 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.

Serve hot and accompany, optionally, with tomato sauce.
