Ingredients
- 1 kg ripe figs, quartered
- The zest of 1 large orange
- 400 gr. crystal Sugar
- The juice of 1 lemon and strips of zest for serving (optional)
Implementation
step 1
Put the figs and 150ml water in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until the figs are soft and have released their juices.

Add the orange zest, sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, stirring regularly, for about 5-7 minutes or until the mixture thickens, skimming off any foam that rises to the surface.

Remove from heat and set aside for 10 minutes.

Pour the mixture into sterilized jars. Seal with the lids and allow to cool completely.
