As seen in the video, when the large animal took him on a hunt, he stumbled, causing the elephant to trample him.
Despite the fact that the scene lasted several seconds in front of the eyes of other terrified tourists, the man originally from Romania survived, albeit seriously injured.
According to reports, the man attempted to take the photo by entering an area that was not allowed in the Karnataka region.
An eyewitness described that the elephant was eating carrots by the side of the road when it was startled by the sudden light from the Romanian tourist's photo.
In addition to serious injuries, the tourist from Romania also "inherited" a fine of 230 euros and a video in which he apologized for the behavior that, as he said, was caused by his ignorance of safety rules in protected areas with wild animals.
