A caravan for the end of the world

A caravan for rough use, which could be the ideal shelter for the end of the world, presented a company from Australia.

The EarthCruiser Explorer XPR440 is an all-terrain and all-weather self-propelled vehicle built on the legendary Mercedes-Benz Truck Unimog.

It is based on the Unimog U 430 and is equipped with various goodies, which make it stand out from the rest of the caravans.

At the front, there is a large steel bumper, which houses auxiliary headlights, safety rings, as well as a winch with a load capacity of up to 9.000 kg.

The vehicle has a number of storage spaces in various places, inside and outside, as well as an outdoor kitchen and barbecue equipment, as well as a washing machine that is integrated in a special area at the rear of the vehicle.

It also has solar panels and a four-seater hydraulic lifting system, while at the rear there is a place for motorcycle transport.

Inside, the exploitation of space is exemplary. There is a large bed in the back, kitchen, sink, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toilet, shower, as well as armchairs, table and air conditioning.

The XPR440 can store 860 liters of water, as well as 800 liters of fuel, which according to Mercedes-Benz give it a range of 3.500 kilometers.

It has a standard navigation system, while it can be equipped with five cameras with the ability to record up to 45 days.

The XPR440 has a four-wheel drive system, locked differentials and portal axles. Its engine produces around 300 hp and can be combined with either an automatic or a manual gearbox.

Even more impressive is the VarioPilot steering system, which in less than 30 seconds allows the steering wheel and control pedals to be moved, either to the right or to the left, to make it easier for the driver to drive in any country.
