FRENAROS: He honored his folk poets and organ players (PHOTOS)

The Cultural Club of the Community Council of Frenaros organized with great success the Folk Poetry Event entitled "In the Footsteps of Tradition 2", The Friday 12.11.2021, at the Frenaro Community Council Event Hall, honoring Frenaro folk poets and organists.

The late was honored at the event Elias Kouloumis for his contribution to the preservation of our cultural heritage through traditional music, Theodoulos Papageorgiou and Kosmas Oikonomou, who won the 1st Prize in the 21st Cypriot Song Composition Competition announced by RIK with the song "To proski"

Furthermore, were honored Frenaro people who dealt with it chatter: Christodoulos Perikli (Pitsiris), Andreas Pierettis, Antonis Giakoumi, Antonou Tampoukari, Costas Giakoumi, Andreas N. Petinaris, Michalis Stavrou Pitta, Simos Katsari, Fanis Louka Ttapolou, Flora Papanikola-M. Also, the popular organ players were honored: Michalis Stekas (Siailis-pithkiavli), Theoris D. Panerkas (lute) and Lefteris Petinaris (pithkiavli).

During the event, songs were heard by Theodoulos Papageorgiou and Panagiotis Anglogallos (Music Group "Pilgrims"), sung by our popular poets and Elias Hadjimichael, as well as a song in the pithkiavli.

One of the honorees was also Michalis Stavrou Pittas. A lover of folk poetry, he dealt with it, writing and participating wherever and whenever he was given the opportunity, taking part in events and other gatherings in the area.

A poem by M. Pitta was recited by his granddaughter Angela Pitta.
