The Environment Office of AKEL Famagusta celebrated the World Environment Day with an event at the Botanical Garden Cyherbia in Avgorou on the morning of Sunday, June 3.
The event was entitled: "Environmental Celebration - I live and I respect the environment"
The speaker was Dr. Aravella Zachariou, Coordinator of the Environmental Education / Training Unit for Sustainable Development, Chair of the Committee on Education for Sustainable Development of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
After the speech, there was a tour of the herbal crops of the garden and distillation of essential oils, as well as activities for young and old in the Labyrinth of the Botanical Garden.
