The leader, the leader, the leader…

The head is a typical case of those intentional constitutions — so called two or more words that are written, that is, connected together, forming a specific syntactic unit — that trouble us with the way they are written, as there is no unanimity as to whether they should be written in one word. or in two separate words.

What we need to keep in mind, however, is that a general and inviolable rule for writing intentional constitutions like the one in the head is not easy to define.

This is because there is no clear and commonly accepted dividing line that would allow us to walk with certainty every time we use these intentional phrases in the written word.

But even if we remain with the question mark of doubt as to the appropriate way of writing it -head ή on the head-, we must have absolutely no doubt that the head does not lean.

Uses such as "According to the statements of the leader", "The movements of the leader" ή "We are obliged to follow the leader", are obviously the result of misunderstandings by users of the modern Greek language who take the adverb head as a word of origin trigenous and two-syllable adjective in -is and -es.

The head is actually one adverbial adverb, and therefore does not incline:

"His responsibilities as team leader are great", "I suggest we address the head of the police force", "This brave general was appointed to lead the campaign".
