American actor James Michael Tyler, who starred as Gunther in the popular TV series "The Friends", has died at the age of 59.
Tyler died peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, his manager said in a statement.
"If you knew him once, you made him a friend for a lifetime," the manager said in a statement.
Film producer Warner Bros., in a post on Facebook, states that "television mourns the loss of James Michael Tyler, a beloved actor and an integral part of our FRIENDS family. "Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues and fans."
James Michael Tyler, who "worked" in the cafeteria "Central Perk" - hangout of the protagonists in "Friends", had announced that he was suffering from prostate cancer.
