Hollywood tragedy overturned - What Baldwin movie's gunsmith said

The case of the tragedy that took place during the shooting of the western movie "Rust", where the famous Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin, shot and accidentally shot the director of photography, Halina Hutchins, has taken a new turn.

In particular, as it is revealed, the person in charge of weapons in the film was relatively inexperienced, while she had revealed that in her previous job she was not sure if she could take such a responsibility.

"I almost got the job because I was not sure if I was ready," the 24-year-old admitted a month before working as a gunsmith in "The Old Way" starring Nicolas Cage.

Speaking on a podcast, the gunsmith had even admitted that she needed her father's help at work as there was an incident she did not know how to handle. This interview sees the light of day when a member of the production revealed that the crew had left the set for safety reasons because before the tragedy they had accidentally fired three more times. Earlier, they had protested against the many hours of filming, the bad conditions and two more incidents related to the "spherical" weapons, as reported by DailyMail.

How the murder took place

According to a document sent to the Santa Fe prosecutor's office, an assistant director took a revolver from what was available from the film's 24-year-old gunsmith, shouted "cold gun" at Alec Baldwin, but did not check if gun was full or not and with what kind of bullets.

It was reported that three guns were left in a cart outside the shooting location, with the first assistant director taking one of them and carrying it inside the shooting scene, unaware that it was full of real bullets.

Seconds later, turning the scene inside a church, Baldwin apparently aimed at the camera and pulled the trigger, accidentally killing Halina Hutchins and injuring the director, Joel Souza, who was behind her.

Hols is a veteran assistant director who has starred in weapons productions such as Fargo, The Matrix Reloaded and the television comedy Reno 911.

Baldwin is devastated

Baldwin said yesterday he was devastated by the death of the director of photography. "I have no words to express my shock and sorrow for the tragic accident where Halina Hutchins was killed," the 63-year-old star wrote on Twitter.
