The decision to proceed with the construction of a marina for private boats and tourist development was taken yesterday by the "Council of Ministers" for the area in Varosi that belongs to the Republic of Cyprus.
As reported in the occupied territories, the said decision was published in the "official newspaper" and it states that "within the framework of the conditions defined in the real estate law 63/1993 and following the positive opinion of the deputy prime minister and the ministry of tourism, culture, youth and environment, the decision was made to lease plots 57 and 651, which are registered in the name of the Republic of Cyprus, to the Ministry of Finance in order to build a marina for yachts and tourist facilities there.
According to information from the KYPE, these pieces concern the small natural harbor outside the fenced area of Varosia, near the Constantia hotel where "Jerry's house" is located, during the British occupation the house of the harbor master at the time.
In this natural harbor today mainly small boats dock.
