Mr Tatar, who is in London for contacts, attended a meeting of the House of Lords under the chairmanship of Lord Northbook and spoke to members of the "TRNC Friendship Group", which he thanked for his many years of efforts. . He claimed that Turkish Cypriots were being ignored in all countries except the "motherland of Turkey" and added that we had now reached a solution point and everyone should know that Turkish Cypriots existed.

He said that in order to make progress on the island, vision and courage are needed, adding that this courage must be demonstrated both within the island and by the international community. He reiterated that other options need to be considered in order to be able to reach a solution on the island.

At the end of his speech, Tatar answered questions from team members and presented plaques to the president of Lord Northbook and members of Lord Maginnis, Lord Kilclooney and Lady Butterworth.
