The need to implement the UN resolutions on Famagusta and to reverse the Turkish actions in the enclosed city of Famagusta, stressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulidis, in a meeting of about half an hour, which took place this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Special Representative UN Secretary General in Cyprus and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force (UNFICYP), Colin Stewart.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Dimitris Dimitriou told KYPE that Mr. Kasoulides met with Mr. Stewart to express Nicosia's dissatisfaction and discomfort with the new actions of the occupying authorities on the coastal front in the closed area of Ba.
"These are actions that run counter to the spirit and letter of the UN Security Council resolutions, as well as recent Presidential Security Council statements on Famagusta," he added.
He also stressed that the United States is the custodian of the Organization's resolutions "and therefore Mr. Kasoulides conveyed the need to implement the resolutions and reverse these actions."
