Tatar challenges: "The opening of Varosio will be widened"

He cited as an example the proposal he submitted to the EU side through the United Nations in July 2022 to interconnect electricity with cables through Turkey.

"This is a project that could be done within three months. Turkey provided its support on this issue. The President of Turkey has indicated that this cable will be laid. I thank him. This is a project that will be implemented with the sound management of mutual relations and has a high cost as in the water project. Great support is provided to the economy, tourism and the tourism industry," he said.

Mr. Tatar also asked to open a crossing point at Mia Milia, which will facilitate trade, saying that sometimes there are big problems with the existing roadblocks. "The opening of a roadblock at Mia Milia will ensure a large contribution to trade through the regulation of the Green Line.

"Right now there is a great potential in our country. Regarding the Cyprus problem, he reiterated that if there will be an agreement in Cyprus, it will be with the cooperation of two "independent, sovereign and equal states. The Turkish Cypriot people are at least as sovereign and have as many rights as they do."
