"The issue with hotel reservations in Varosi is serious and complex" - KD investigates the information

The relevant agencies of the Republic are investigating what has come to light in relation to what a Turkish businessman said that he opened the reservations for 2025 in hotels in the closed area of Famagusta, announcing that he bought four hotels, 86 apartments and 20 acres of land in the closed area Famagusta.

Those that have come to light are currently being investigated. The aim is to have a full investigation by the competent state agencies into what is happening and to cross-reference the information that exists, said a competent source.

He added that the issue is serious and complex because it has both financial and legal aspects.

He further reminded that this is not the first time that this issue has arisen, recalling the information that had seen the light of day last April and which was also put under the microscope of the competent services, according to which a Turkish Cypriot businessman bought three hotels from their Greek Cypriot owners, in the enclosed city of Varosia to reopen them.

The same source emphasized the need to implement the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council - 550 and 789 - for Famagusta, indicating at the same time that the only way to deal with the situation definitively is to resolve the Cyprus problem.
