First Ceremonial visit to the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Famagusta in Deryneia of the new Greek Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus Ioannis Papameletiou.
The Ambassador was welcomed by the Mayor of Famagusta Dr. Simos Ioannou and a delegation of the Municipal Council.
The Mayor guided the Ambassador to the premises of the Cultural Center and informed him about the current developments in Famagusta but also about all the actions of the Municipality of Famagusta.
Mr. Papameletiou referred to the strong ties between the two countries and stressed the undivided and long-standing support of Greece for the settlement of the Cyprus problem and the return of the legal residents of Famagusta to their ancestral homes, always in accordance with UN resolutions.
