Piero Fassino, rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Varos, visited the besieged city.
According to reports in the Turkish Cypriot press, the Italian legislator is holding meetings with representatives of the Turkish Cypriot side.
A relevant announcement of the press office of the National Unity Party (KEE), states that Mr. Fassino visited Varosi on Tuesday morning. The Italian official was accompanied by KEE "MPs" Oguzhan Hasipoglou, Ozdemir Berova and Republican Turkish Party (RTK) "MP" Armagan Janan.
During his visit to Varosi, the "mayor" Ismail Arter gave information to Mr. Fassino about the open "public" spaces in the area.
During the day, the Italian official will meet with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, as well as representatives of the Turkish Cypriot parties, the "Real Estate Committee" and the EVKAF.
