Adamos Papadamou (Poulaki) from Avgorou, a well-known person in the Chichester community and owner of a Fish & Chip La Fish, left. Mr. Papadamou died last Monday (16/11) at the age of 69, from cancer.
Mr Papadamou went to the United Kingdom in 1973 to study, but due to the invasion his family could not support him financially. So in 1977 he opened his own Fish & Chip store.
Adam had lived with his family for the past 39 years in the Chichester community and was well known and loved for his philanthropic work.
His family posted a message on the store's Facebook page announcing his death with hundreds of people sending condolences to the family and sharing their own personal stories with Adam, mainly describing his kindness and generosity.
After his death, many locals left bouquets of flowers outside the store.
He was known in the community for his philanthropic work, especially to the homeless in the community with Donna Ockenden, founder of a charity for the homeless, stating the following:
"During the first days of the pandemic and throughout, Adamos' support in providing hot meals to the homeless was greatly appreciated. "Adam's death is a huge loss for the city of Chichester."
A local page of the community, referred to Adamos both for his charity and for the grief caused by his death to the inhabitants of the area.
His funeral will take place on December 2 and his family will post an online link to anyone wishing to attend the funeral.
