IT WAS JULY 1988….
One sunny Saturday afternoon, when Mrs. Georgia Periandrou from Avgorou, realized that her babies, so she called them, even though her boys were 16 and 17 years old, were missing hours from home.
She was worried and told her husband to look for them. When he returned unnoticed, fear seized them and they began to search anxiously.
THE STORY OF THEOCHARIS AND PERIANDROS - THE 2 CHILDREN WHO WERE FOUND CHANGED IN AVGOROU
The father of the children, started desperately ringing the bell of the village, calling the villagers for help. The whole village was mobilized immediately. The next day dawned, but the children were speechless…
EVERYONE MOBILED, BUT THE TWO CHILDREN AWARDED
At one point one of his hat was found in the water tank of the village, which is still used today. 17-year-old Theocharis and 16-year-old Periandros were pulled from there. Unfortunately the children had drowned. No one knows exactly how they got lost but the prevailing scenario is that first one child slipped and the second lost his life trying to save his brother.
THE TWO BROTHERS LOST THEIR LIVES TRYING TO SAVE EACH OTHER
The little sister of the family was then 10 years old and carries this childhood trauma to this day, but she finally sees life smiling at her.
Christoula Periandrou was on the OMEGA show "I have something to tell you" and talked about how her two brothers got lost.
Among other things, Christoula mentioned the way the brothers found themselves in the water tank: "The bases were mobilized, our police, frogmen were mobilized, because there was so much mud down in the tank. It was a tank that was in the ground. It had mud down, that is, you were sticking. The frogmen found them. They found them tied and hugging basically, to such an extent that it means they tried to help each other "

She herself wanted to thank the man who was always by her side in all the obstacles that life brought her. Her sister's husband, who joined the family a year after the loss of the two boys.
