A fatal accident with a Russian tourist victim took place in the afternoon in Ayia Napa.
According to the Police, at around 15:45 in the afternoon, a 73-year-old Russian tourist was trying to cross the Island Avenue in Ayia Napa on foot, when she was abducted by a taxi driven by a 65-year-old Greek Cypriot.
Members of the Ayia Napa Police Station and the Famagusta Police Department rushed to the scene, while the taxi driver was tested for alcohol with zero indication.
The exact causes of death of the woman will be ascertained by the legal autopsy that will be performed on her body.
According to the first estimates, it seems that the woman entered the road without checking for passing vehicles, while the taxi that dragged her, according to eyewitnesses, did not manage to press the brakes.
The circumstances under which the new fatal accident occurred are being investigated by the Famagusta Traffic Police.
