The green light for turning the tourist village of Aktea Beach Village into a five-star hotel was given by the Environmental Authority in its recent opinion.
The proposed project concerns an application for additional conversions in the existing village of Aktea Beach Village in order to transform it into a hotel with a capacity of 254 rooms. The tourist village is located on a plot on Neophytou Poullou Street in Ayia Napa and falls in the tourist zone T1c with a allowed number of floors not exceeding three. The existing unit has a capacity of 148 rooms and consists of the main building and 21 apartments.
The additions concern conversion of the basement of the main building to a mechanical floor, extension of the ground floor to the places where there are open spaces (verandas), conversion of the mezzanine floor from a mechanical floor to storage, construction of a restaurant, bar, kitchen and terrace on the first floor, construction restaurant on the second floor, demolition of swimming pools and construction of a single swimming pool and outdoor bar. It is also proposed the demolition of 12 buildings (apartments) and the construction of a 5-storey building with 182 hotel rooms and underground parking.
