A second couple was named Ayia Napa's "Tourism Ambassador" this year after easing measures to tackle the pandemic.
This is the couple Kalevi and Anny Kleemola, from Norway, who came to Ayia Napa for their vacation 43 times.
In a special ceremony that took place today, Tuesday, November 02, 2021, the Cultural Officer of the Municipality, Mrs. Maria Tofini Tsantila on behalf of the Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettos honored the Norwegian visitors with a commemorative plaque and the emblem of the "Ambassador of Tourism of Ayia Napa".
Mrs. Tofini Tsantila, after thanking the couple for their repeated visits, explained the reasons for their award and for the establishment of the institution of "Ambassador of Tourism" by the Municipality.
"Your 43 visits to our city," he said, "show the magnitude of your love for Ayia Napa," which is why we now consider you citizens of our city and not just visitors. "
