On Sunday, January 12, 2020, a by-election will be held to elect a new Mayor of Ayia Napa, after the appointment of Giannis Karousos as Minister.
According to a written announcement of the Central Election Service, the Minister of Interior, by Decrees published in the Official Gazette of the Republic, has set Sunday, January 12, 2020 as the date for by-elections to elect a new Mayor of Ayia Napa and has appointed Arimos Epachos as Election Commissioner.
The Minister of Interior also set December 30, 2019, as the date when the Election Commissioner will accept the candidacies.
The announcement also states that 3334 voters have the right to participate in the by-elections, of which 2687 are Cypriots and 647 are Community, which will be distributed in 4 polling stations.
