A 24-year-old tourist from Britain, who was arrested at noon, admitted the serious injury of his compatriot in Ayia Napa and is expected to appear before the Famagusta District Court tomorrow for a detention order.
The arrest was made after another arrested, also a tourist, aged 21, named the 24-year-old.
According to the Police, yesterday at dawn, a 24-year-old tourist was transported to the TAEP of the General Hospital of Famagusta with head injuries.
Examinations revealed that the 24-year-old had subdural hematoma on his head. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was admitted to the General Hospital of Nicosia, where after undergoing surgery, he was kept for treatment in the intensive care unit.
Investigations and investigations by the Police revealed that the injury of the 24-year-old came from an attack he received from a compatriot yesterday at dawn, while he was returning to the hotel where he was staying in Ayia Napa.
From further investigation of the case, a testimony was secured against a 21-year-old tourist. An arrest warrant was issued and he was arrested today, a few minutes after midnight.
During interrogation, the 21-year-old named a 24-year-old tourist also from Britain, who was arrested at noon to facilitate the police interrogations.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the case and is expected to appear before the Famagusta District Court tomorrow for a detention order.
The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
